Twili Midna Papercraft by XenonRay Twili Midna Papercraft by XenonRay
This is a result of a collaboration between me :iconxenonray: and :iconsqueezycheesecake: for the Nintendo Papercraft blog over at: nintendopapercraft.blogspot.co…

Twili form Midna from the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess has always been something I've wanted to see and build as a papercraft so after a couple of months work between us, she's now available for release!

There's a ton of notes, tips and advice in the download pack so please have a read of things before building.

-------Read Before Downloading-------

It's a 29.1MB RAR file which contains PDFs and PDOs to print from or use as references. 16 pages, 148 pieces. Stands between ~48-49cm tall depending on the hood.

You can open the RAR archive with software such as WinRAR, Alzip, 7Zip. Just search around!

You can open the PDO files with Pepakura Viewer downloadable free here: www.tamasoft.co.jp/pepakura-en…

Please do use this as it's immensely helpful as a resource and will show you exactly where parts go. Almost essential for a model of this complexity. It doesn't work on Macs unfortunately though.

Difficulty: 8.5/10 (Tricky in parts but not so bad with experience)

:pc: Download Here:
www.mediafire.com/download/bjs…

Happy building!

Squeezy also did a brilliant job so please check her version out:

Do you have a different download link? When I click the link it gives me a Forbidden 403 error. O.o

Oh dear, whatever Nintendo Papercraft hosted the file on seems to be down. Cheers for the update, I'll change my link to a Mediafire mirror! www.mediafire.com/download/bjs…

would you and squeezycheesecake consider making this into a life sized template? I'd love to build her life sized, but then I'd fold her. I think she'd look better folded in that size and I'd just LOVE to make her as I made the life sized Zelda. do you think she'd look better smooth or folded life sized? my next build will be Midna in her imp form, one each for 3 friends of mine and then a life sized one for myself. I'm SO greatful for the Midna papercrafts. they look amazing and really fun to build!

Sounds like you'll be busy for a while then!

As for lifesized, well to put it straight I don't really focus on those sorts of templates myself. As you might guess I'm more into smaller models and scaled series so to be honest I wouldn't know how to go about making a big version (and it will be big, considering your Zelda is 170cm, and Twili Midna towers above her in game!). The PDO files will always be left open however, so anyone willing to do so can export it as an OBJ for 3D editing, or just jump right in and up the scale.

As for smooth or folded, it's just preference I think. Personally at that size I'd smooth build since the level of detail is still pretty high and it would save some time.

yeah! :squee:

oh, ok. well I'll check with someone else then. thank you very much for the templates though! I'm really happy to finally be able to build Midna in her imp form too! (even though I'm still a bit ashamed that I didn't fully build this template to the end)

I've almost finished my Midna - have to make her hands, another arm, skirt, and the little extras on her cloak. It's an absolutely fantastic model :D Mine doesn't look as polished as your and squeezycheesecake's builds, but the point is to have a fun time making it, and I have so far :D

Sounds like you'll have it done in no time!

Also thanks for the watch. I was wondering if I'd seen some of you papercrafts on here so did a quick search. Well, no models but right name (and plenty of lovely Nintendo based art!)

I should post some of my papercrafts on here, shouldn't I? XD I'll post a couple of shots of Midna in my gallery soon, as well as that big shelf of crafts I showed you :)

Oh wow this is brilliant!! I've downloaded your garrus one and tali PC too.. I cocked it up on Tali (too thick card, naivity much) But looking at Midna I'm inspired again :)

Oh yeah, designers always waffle on about using thick paper but there's a limit! There's a happy medium between strength, edge thickness and ease of manipulation somewhere. ;p

I'll have to make a special trip to Colemans (my local arts n crafts store, and fairly expensive >.<) and look for some thin card there.. find some compromise in there somewhere lol. cheers :D

Oh I agree, Midna and the twili were great so it's a shame they might never be seen again. :(

I don't think I'll ever get over how awesome this is!

Ahh... Just thank you! I don't think it would have turned out half as good if I'd finished it on my own before you stepped in! :D

And I'd also like to thank you for advice throughout and most importantly the rigging! I know we've only got a simple pose but what with that damn cloak, I would've struggled to manually shift everything without having the armatures in place!
