Presenting another no context practice paint! Make what you will of it. I was just working off a concept of a steampunk fellow holding some sort of pseudo-Mauser in an interesting pose.
In the midst of exams and coursework, I've squeezed this in here and there for my sanity's sake. I've been trying out painting using mostly hard brushes and smudging, and found I can pull it off quite fast, though perhaps not as detailed as my usual 'keep painting over it about a 100 times' method.
Edit: Improved the background slightly, more detail, mist and shading.
I really like how this looks, My only question is;(and sorry if it seems rude) Whats up with the background? just didn't feel like detailing it more? Like how on the left...it just kind of trails off into nothingness; is that just because of how you wanted it?
